Tarifa lies on the wild coastline of the Costa de la Luz, Cadiz and across the Strait of Gibraltar facing Morocco. It is the southernmost point of Europe and the gateway to Africa.

Tarifa is known to be one of the windiest destinations in Europe and has become a mecca for windsurf and kitesurf enthusiasts. White sandy beaches stretch for miles which attracts people far and wide. It has such a unique boho vibe yet also attracts a cosmopolitan trendy crowd and which is no surprise it is no surprise it has become so many people’s special place, including my own.

Tarifa holds a certain magical charm. It is incredibly easy to fall in love with the place and this attracts many couples planning their wedding or intimate elopement in this magical paradise.

Julia & Lukas decided to do just that and have an elopement with only their closest friends in a private villa overlooking the sea with views of Africa. Being the closest point from Europe to Africa the views on a clear day are spectacular.

Julia & Lukas had already had a legal ceremony back home in Denmark but really wanted to celebrate with a party vibe with their mates and why not!

It was shots during the ceremony and mojitos straight after it was clear the kind of party and celebration Julia & Lukas wanted. They certainly wasted no time getting the party started after a gorgeous spread put on by local retreat chef Kate. Her food is all about local, organic and quality. Kates food is always a colourful display of healthy beautiful food where any food is celebrated and with more of an emphasis on seasonal vegetables it really is a showstopper.

With a local from the trendy Dany Garcia’s Bibi Tarifa resident DJ, beer pong for the lads and espresso martinis on tap the celebrations were pretty epic.

I absolutely loved capturing the elopement of Julia & Lukas. What a gorgeous trendy bunch of people who certainly know how to party. Weddings certainly do not have to be one occasion and with only closest friends it was lovely to see the couple surrounded by fun, laughter and love (and plenty of cocktails)
